Council Launches "Towards 2042" Consultation
Goulburn Mulwaree Council is excited to launch the Towards 2042 consultation, which will shape the future of
our community through a new Community Strategic Plan.
Council will guide the community through important discussions on the main ideas and priorities for our local
government area for the next term of Council and beyond, documenting these in a Community Strategic Plan.
“This is a great opportunity to share your ideas and influence our future. It’s your chance to envisage what
you, your friends, family and the wider community will need to grow and thrive towards 2042” said Mayor Bob
Towards 2042 community consultation will commence with a range of activities across the local government
area, including a survey which can be completed online at https://www.goulburn.nsw.gov.au/Council/Community-Strategic-Plan
“I encourage everyone to get involved June and July to have their say. We’ve got full details on how to get
involved on our website. There will be several opportunities for people to conveniently share their thoughts,
including surveys, a public meeting in Goulburn and drop-in sessions in Marulan and Tarago. There are also
creative ways for our younger residents to provide feedback including creative drawing kits.”
“We all have aspirations for a better future. Towards 2042 allows us to consider what we love about where we
live, what we’d like our future to look like, and how we will get there. Together, we can document a future
vision that respects our unique local area and lifestyle and that will influence the next elected Council in their
Consultation will also involve phone surveys during July, and three face to face engagement sessions:

Council has a custodial role in initiating and preparing the Community Strategic Plan, but it is a community
plan. Many partners, such as state agencies and community groups, will be responsible for its implementation.
