As you may be aware, this year will be the final year of the current council term, which was extended due to COVID-19. Elections will be held in September, and I encourage anyone who has the drive and passion to contribute to the community to consider putting themselves forward for the elections.
In my opinion, it is essential that we have representation from our rural communities; however, this does not happen if we don’t have candidates put their hand up! Cr Denzil Sturgiss has been a great representative for our rural communities for a number of years, but of course, we welcome anyone who would like to stand for Council from right around our LGA.
If you would like to get an idea of the work involved, a good way to begin is to come along to our meetings which are held at 6 pm at 184 Bourke Street, Goulburn on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
I would also be willing to chat with anyone who is interested in running for Council – you can contact my office to book a quick appointment via 4823 4486, or my mobile and email are available on the Council website.
