Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Grants
Goulburn Mulwaree Council has received two allocations of funding through the Federal Government Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Fund.
This grant program is focused on stimulating the Australian Economy following the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, with projects needing to be delivered within short timeframes.
Councillors wanted to ensure that some of this money was spent in our rural communities, and chose new footpaths as great projects which we were able to undertake quickly. In Marulan we are spending $120,000 of the funding received in the first allocation on footpaths on George Street (Brayton Rd Intersection), Maclura Drive (Morris Pl to Stoney Creek Rd) and Stoney Creek Road (Brayton Rd to end), which should be well underway by the time you read this column.
We have also chosen to continue these footpath projects in villages with some of the funding received in Round two and will be consulting with Village Discretionary Funding allocation groups to determine the priority list for this work.
